Projects

A project is a work folder with its own memory: ideal for theses, clients, courses or any topic with continuity.

Creating a project

From the Projects section in the panel, with the "New project" button. Give it a clear name ("Economics thesis") and start chatting inside it: all the chats in the project share context.

What a project has

  • Chats: the conversations that belong to it.
  • Sources: documents that stay available to all the chats in the project ("always read this PDF").
  • Instructions: fixed directions, for example "always write in formal Spanish" or "my company details are...".
  • Memory: you decide whether Echidna remembers the project in all your chats or only inside it.

From chat to project and back

You can move a standalone conversation into a project from the session menu ("Move to project"), and take it out when it is no longer related. Nothing is lost along the way.

When to use it (and when not to)

Use it when there is continuity: a client, a research effort, a course. For a one-off question, the normal chat is enough; projects are for what accumulates.

Deleting a project

When you delete it, its chats go with it; files you have saved in your Library are kept. The app asks for confirmation before doing it.
