3 CATEGORIES · NO TRICKS

How we are different, without cheap marketing.

Compared against the two market categories: the typical 20 USD subscription and free plans. No names and no invented data.

Why we will not lie to you with this

We could fill this page with inflated comparisons, but then we would not be different from what we criticize. The facts behind our difference are verifiable: our price is public, our data policy is written and signed in the manifesto, and the benchmarks carry their date and method.

If one day a free service does all this better than us, the advantage will be theirs and we will say so. In the meantime, Echidna's bet is simple: fair price, real privacy and serious work.

What we do not have (yet)

An honest comparison also looks inward. This is what does not exist inEchidna today, with no varnish:

  • Native mobile app. You use it from your phone's browser; there is no app to install.
  • Multi-region deployment. Everything runs in a single region (Dallas); we do not promise local latencies on other continents.
  • Public API for developers. Today the product is the interface; there are no API keys and no SDK.
  • Corporate integrations. No single sign-on and no enterprise directory; large plans are set up by hand with you.
  • Phone support. Support is by email and Discord, with people and no scripts.

Every point on this list is a decision, not an oversight: we would rather publish what is missing than fake a complete catalogue.

One clarification that belongs right here: the Free plan is permanent and will stay that way. What has a date and an end is the launch promotion — two weeks of the Standard plan, free, for anyone who creates an account now.
