Files and documents

Real work almost always goes through a file. Echidna reads them, transforms them and creates them.

Formats it understands

  • PDF
  • Word (.docx)
  • Excel (.xlsx)
  • PowerPoint (.pptx)
  • Plain text and Markdown (.txt, .md, .csv)
  • Images (it describes them and works with them)

How to upload a file

Use the attach button in the writing bar and choose the file. It will appear next to your message; then ask for what you need: "summarize this contract", "extract all the dates", "make me a table with the amounts".

What you can ask it to do

  • Summaries of any length.
  • Extract data and turn it into tables.
  • Compare two versions of a document.
  • Create a new one from several: "merge these three reports".
  • Create from scratch: reports, spreadsheets, presentations.

Privacy in one sentence

Your attachments are used to work and are automatically purged within 24 hours. They are not used to train models and they are not sold. The detail is in Privacy.

When the file is large

Long documents are processed in parts: if a PDF has many pages, ask "summarize pages 1 to 20" and then the rest, or ask directly for a strategy ("tell me the structure first and then we go deeper"). WithThinking, Echidna organizes that work on its own.

Downloading what is created

Everything Echidna creates stays available in your Library, where you can open it or download it.
